The Supervisor – Maintenance Department supervises and directs all maintenance personnel in their daily duties. This would include, but is not limited to, maintaining preventative maintenance programs for planning and tracking historical repair information and expense repair information by specific equipment items. Prepares and coordinates departmental daily work schedules including vacations. Actively participates in facility EPA and ASHA requirements and inspections. Handles intra-departmental disciplinary and employee issues. Assists in other governmental compliance such as water codification, sewer codes, fire codes, building and zoning codes, and local right to know. Develops and sets up preventative maintenance plan. Functions as company’s point person on electrical, ladder, and facilities safety.

Engineering Manager
Education: An associate degree in maintenance disciplines such as industrial technology, electrical technology, or equivalent in experience with emphasis on electrical and hydraulics.
Knowledge: A thorough knowledge of maintenance equipment, operations, materials, hydraulics, electricals, injections molding equipment, building maintenance, environmental, preventative maintenance systems and techniques, government regulations, math and measurement techniques. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written. Must have versatile knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and DELMIAworks.
Experience: At least five (5) years or more experience as a maintenance supervisor of five (5) to seven (7) years as electrical/electronic, machine repair, in a lead capacity and infections molding facility.
Independent Judgment: Regularly. Performs duties with little supervision. Regularly makes independent judgments. This job requires technical, leadership abilities, and people skills on a regular basis. Uses some discretion and independent thinking.
Quality: Follows regulatory, company, and departmental procedures implicitly. In the execution of the job function the Maintenance Supervisor must focus on the quality aspect of all maintenance activities. Each assigned activity has at least an indirect if not direct impact on the profitability of the company. Doing the job right the first time and in a timely manner is important to meeting management expectations. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for on-the-floor quality of the maintenance department. It should always be a priority to achieve zero defects in each job. Material loss as well as time loss must be always minimized. Quality is the number one priority.
Physical Exertion: Must ambulate throughout the plant and department. This job requires being on one’s feet extensively and being able to be in an uncomfortable position on occasion and at heights (i.e., on the roof of the plant). Must be able to perform physical tasks on the equipment (when assisting, performing work or training). Extensively uses hand/eye coordination, uses all communication faculties. Lifts 50 lbs or less. May travel to visit vendors, contractors, suppliers and for training.
Tools: All tools associated with maintenance (i.e. wrenches, micrometers, screwdrivers, pry-bars, voltmeters, etc.), tow-motors, scissors lift, overhead hoists, skids, pencils, pens, notepads, paper, telephones, paging system, PC computer, network system, staplers, copy machine, calculators, slide rule, voltmeter, other measuring devices such as measuring cup, scales, rulers, laser measuring devices, written policies, labor contract, paper clips, filing materials, hammers, labels, printers, PPE, research materials, and government codes.
Attendance: Must be in attendance on a regular, full-time basis and conform to all Company Attendance Policies. Due to the important nature of this position attendance is of the utmost importance. Must be willing and available to work other shifts and overtime (including weekends) as necessary/required. Take phone calls after hours and come in when necessary.
Salary Non-Exempt. This is an “at will” position.
